One of the biggest lessons I've learned over the past few months is how I keep trying to overpromise, and not learning how to budget my time well. This week was definitely no exception. It made me painfully aware how limited my ability was to simply bully through the duties and necessities of life.

Sometimes life has made Arcane Inkdustries more exciting, and vibrant. Others it has been a stark reminder of the hard decisions that need to keep being made.

State of the Inkdustries

Legends of the Realm Volume 1 delays - We are having some very understandable delays due to personal tragedies with our team, and are pushing back the estimated release date for the physical copies of Volume 1. Luckily our backers have already started downloading the digital files, and we hope to get that digital file to you readers very, very soon.

God Street settling back down - In that same vein, we are withdrawing from Printopia. We were splitting our attention across too many books, and The Shattered Wing AND Burnt, Winged, and Singed both deserve undivided attention. This one was especially hard since the book only needs formatting work, but I want to ensure that the books are launched just as well as they are written.

My COO and I have had constant conversations about the business of Arcane Inkdustries, and what we have learned is that we want to not just say that we are a caring publisher. We want to make sure we don't ignore when a member of our team has to take some time. It will make the art better, and we hope you appreciate it.

The Lore Corner: The Soul Lance

The seven legends of the Fiorae are the central figures of The Shattered Wing. They are heroes, despots, villains, and flawed...depending on who you ask.

Each of the Fiorae were brought together by fate, happenstance, and fear...but one sought out her destiny. Caitlin, the Soul Lance.

While she lived in Fiora, she quickly left home to pursue her destiny. A warrior convert of the Gallantine Empire, she has spent the years before The Shattered Wing following the creed of Gallantil. Fighting demons, studying theology, all in the hopes of being a heroine for her goddess. But what happens when the goddess's clarion call resonates, and it forces her to betray everything she knows as true?

Caitlin is a heroine. More so than any of the other Fiorae. For better, and for worse.
