I'm writing this in the midst of a kerfuffle. I believe that is the clinical term for "there's ninety things going on in your head, and maybe six of them have to be done RIGHT NOW."

There is something much different about my life now, compared to what it was back in 2017 when we started this publishing journey. It isn't harder, or easier, I can honestly say it's different.

Back when I was starting out, Arcane Inkdustries was in the midst of trying to find out what would work. Trying short stories, comics, a whole host of novels. Figuring out who I am as a fantasy writer, what flavor of fantasy I am. What kind of books do you want to read, dear reader.

All the while slowly building a reputation as a consitent creator, juggling the course load of a master's degree, and seeing what relationships are like.

Now, Arcane Inkdustries is in different challenges. It's balancing the needs of being a father and husband, alongside an established career. Building epic fantasy for you, and seeing how that will work in its totality.

As I continue writing book three, and editing and creating more projects, I think what has helped calm me is the knowledge that THIS is the path we are taking. Arcane Inkdustries is not starting from a blank page. Instead, we are now trying to understand how to bring these books out into the wider world.

I hope this week, as the leaves have changed, and autumn winds begin to blow, that it will bring calm and comfort to you. All the best.

State of the Inkdustries

First, we are working on developing our entire schedule for 2027. With The Shattered Wing, we're also hoping to get two more comics and maybe even another book out to you next calendar year. The challenge for us has been getting into the weeds of the business, and figuring out when is the best time for you to receive the book, dear reader.

The Innkeeper's Dirge - The proofreading has been going well. I managed to keep up my writing schedule for book three, and have kept up my personal readthrough and edit of book two. There will definitely be some major rewrites for this book, but it's a happy event.

Lysanne, the Lost One

Lysanne is a mystery that would very much not like to be. A young woman born with the ability to channel the magical energies of the world, her idea of a paradise would include little more than a cottage by a stream…with a certain someone who can’t seem to get how much she likes him.

But the magical energies have become too hard to simply ignore. And so when Caitlin left, Lysanne soon followed. Traveling to the Coral Enclave on the western edge of the continent. She sought control, understanding, and solace. But now she has returned to Fiora. Why leave the Enclave so early? Why leave it at all?
