I'm starting with...thank you. We managed to fund that last campaign on Thursday with just hours to spare. That was due in no small part to you, dear readers. Thank you to everyone who backed, and shared, and wrote such wonderful comments about how they have loved Legends of the Realm. When you tell us you are enjoying our work, it actually means the world to us, and me specifically. Because as I am bringing Arcane Inkdustries to newer and greater heights, bringing in more artists and people...the writing is still just me. That same guy who started writing fantasy twenty-two years ago because he read a book about a boy and a dragon and dared to dream he could write something like this, too. There is so much to talk about this week, as well as some fun new stuff for you, dear reader. I hope you read on and learn all about them. But, seriously, to end this beginning...thank you. Become a Beta Reader for Book OneWith the Legends of the Realm kickstarter now complete (the campaign, at least), I am turning much of my attention back to the novel side of Tir Aileni and everything in our novels. Which means it's time to talk about The Shattered Wing. In the small farming village of Diwedd, in a tavern nobody knows, seven legends descend upon the town for a dinner party. There they tell their tales to the frightened innkeeper, asking him to judge if they saved the world...or damned it. The Shattered Wing has gone through its professional editorial assessment and subsequent revisions. Before moving on towards the final steps of publication, I'd like to reach out to a small group of beta readers. Those who can read this over the summer, see what's working, what isn't, and what can be strengthened. And in return, you'll get a first look at the first epic fantasy novel series from us! Thank you for helping bring the next chapter of Tir Aileni to life. State of the InkdustriesThere's just so many books and comics, that it's hard to keep track of everything! Legends of the Realm Kickstarter - Now that the campaign is done, we are moving onto the next steps. Making our credits, acknowledgments, and thank you pages. This is the part that I'm hoping my COO loves doing. We're crossing the t's and dotting the i's, making this our best trade paperback EVER. Considering it's our first, I like our chances. Next Books for Legends - Oh, there is so much coming down the comics pipeline. We're working with new artists for a couple one-shot comics from Camriddeon's world. We'll be highlighting a fan favorite character, as well as the intricacies of the Sanctaidd Theocracy to the south. And I'm deep in the midst of writing Volume 2 of Legends of the Realm. That's right, we're moving away from single issues, jumping straight into the next volume with a ton of new characters, a harrowing story, and the consequences of Camriddeon's arrival in Dannisfire finally coming to light. Book 2 of the Innkeeper's Dirge - I am on chapter 48 of writing the first draft of this book. It is insane to me that we're hitting maybe the three-quarter mark, maybe even just the five-eighths mark. I REALLY can't say anything further about this withou delving into MAJOR spoilers for The Shattered Wing, just safe to say that this is madness. Me making a fool of myself - We will be doing more fun social media posts and readings, and more lore for the world of Legends of the Realm.
